About Everyday Identity #

The Person #

I’m Jay Klinkowsky — IAM practitioner, security nerd, and the person who started Everyday Identity because I kept having the same conversation.

Someone on my team, or a colleague at another organization, or someone in an online community would ask: “What should we actually do about [Okta lifecycle management / CyberArk implementation / AI agents in our environment / access reviews that nobody completes]?”

And the answer was never in the vendor documentation. It was in 15 years of making mistakes, fixing them, and learning what actually works in real enterprise environments — not just in demos.

Everyday Identity is where I write that knowledge down so it’s useful to more than one person at a time.

The Background #

15+ years in Identity and Access Management. Currently working in IAM and cybersecurity for a state government environment managing thousands of identities across Active Directory, Entra ID, CyberArk PAM, Okta, JAMF, and ServiceNow.

I’ve been studying and applying AI to IAM problems since mid-2025 — not as a theoretical exercise but as a working practitioner figuring out what AI actually changes about identity programs, and what it doesn’t.

The Mission #

Cybersecurity — and IAM specifically — has a communication problem. The knowledge exists. The expertise exists. But it’s locked behind vendor certifications, conference keynotes, and tools built for enterprise budgets.

Everyday Identity translates that expertise into something practitioners can actually use: clear writing, real-world checklists, practical guides, and direct consulting when you need a human to work through the hard problems with you.

Work With Me #
